Job & Business Outreach
Capital Improvement Program

Working with the Department of Employment Services (DOES) and with local community development organizations, we utilize existing job training and placement programs to help the community surrounding our projects become involved in the project.

By starting to work with existing outreach programs and organizations months before soliciting contractors for a project, our team is able to identify specific construction employment opportunities expected to become available once construction begins. These programs include:

When we begin soliciting bids from construction contractors and subcontractors, along with the bid documents, we are also able to provide a list of job-ready, local graduates of these programs. Job opportunities are likely to include positions as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers. Review our current solicitations below.

To be included on a list of businesses interested in participating in DPR's Capital Improvement Program, please complete the Capital Improvement Participation Application and fax to (202) 462-1082. Local, Small, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (LSDBEs) are encouraged to participate (visit the Office of Local Business Development for more details).
